A group of ten Maastricht students under the name of Maastricht  Housing Now has started a petition in reaction to the student housing crisis in our city. This crisis is still continuing despite the efforts of local political parties. The situation continues to be critical, particularly for international students.

The problem was addressed at a meeting of city management. The students were given the opportunity here, via an online meeting, to say their piece. This was for US student, Marrie, the motivating force for signing the petition.

Their demands have since been conveyed to city management and Maastricht University. On Monday, 1 November, there will also be a demonstration on the Markt. In addition to housing problems, discrimination and abuse will also receive attention.
